If there is one thing that most New Yorkers wish they had, or on having it believe it is essential to their living, it is outdoor space. Since most properties in Manhattan don’t have any, even a small balcony can be a huge bonus for owners or renters. There are few people (those afraid of heights or with small children) who would turn down an apartment because of it having outdoor space. But because not all properties are set up the same way, you sometimes have as little as a Juliette balcony and other times you may have a whole backyard or a roof to enjoy. Either way, when buying, selling or renting, you should consider your priorities and the value of the outdoor space.
